We had our first Bertie’s Buccaneers volunteer for Team Bertie this month. A colleague of Bertie’s mum (Alison), Dr. Kim Price, has taken on the challenge of The Great North Run this September. Please do support him (click here) because he is being totally awesome by taking on this fantastic half marathon – that’s 13.1 miles to help find a cure for children like Bertie. Dr Price is really looking forward to his challenge and tells us that he is adding an ascent of Snowdon into his training for the run, just to stretch his muscles – crikey! He has set himself a hearty pirate target of £500! This is well above the regular goal MDUK suggest of £300. Great news – he is already half way there – yipee! Can you help him to help Bertie? Donate here.
He sent us this lovely view from the top of Holyrood Hill, Edinburgh, where he squeezed in a bit of training on a recent research trip.
Find out more about taking part in the Great North Run for Bertie’s Buccaneers and MDUK here. P.S. It is only £29 to register, if you fancy joining in!
** If you register for any events via the MDUK website, don’t forget to let us know here at Bertie’s Buccaneers so that we can get your fundraising attached to Bertie’s team 😉
